Did you know that Botox and Dysport are no longer your only options when it comes to neurotoxin-based beauty treatments? In fact, Jeuveau was just approved by the FDA in February 2019, less than two years ago. But this new treatment has a lot of advantages over the old Botox injections. Here are the most significant.

Cost difference

Botox isn’t just a beauty treatment. In fact, it was originally a medical treatment that was later approved for cosmetic use. However, Jeauveau was developed with the intent of creating a better beauty treatment. That means that not only is it more effective for cosmetic use, it is also much cheaper because the manufacturer doesn’t have to deal with insurance companies.

Interchangeable with Botox or Dysport

If you have received Botox or Dysport for cosmetic reasons in the past, you can easily swap them out for the cheaper Jeuveau. All three contain the same basic formula with the same active ingredients (neurotoxin A). The difference lies in the formulation of the ingredients, the size and shape of the molecules, and other differences in formula or technique. For use on lines around the eyes and between the brows, Jeuveau is just as effective as the others.

Best for around the eyes

While Botox was originally developed to medically treat facial twitches and other conditions, it has been found to be somewhat effective in decreasing the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes. But because Jeuveau was developed specifically for this application, it is much more effective at reducing, eliminating, or preventing those dreaded crow’s feet. It’s also great for those lines between the brows.
