Prevention
The most effective way to deal with any skin concern is to prevent them from happening. One of the best ways to prevent wrinkles, sagging skin, and discoloration is to use a vitamin c serum. Vitamin c is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes harmful free radicals, but not every vitamin c is created equal. You need a professional-grade vitamin c in order for it to live up to the hype! Protection
SPF is the #1 anti-aging product on the market; unfortunately, most people don't use one. We recommend applying SPF every morning prior to makeup. When you are outside for long periods of time it must be reapplied every 2 hours. Even on cloudy or overcast days, your skin can still be susceptible to UV damage. I always tell my patients SPF stands for “Stay Pretty Forever”.
One sunscreen we love in the office is Revision’s Intellishade Clear SPF 50, an un-tinted, oil-free formula that is great for all skin types. Another favorite is Skinbetter’s sunbetter TONE SMART SPF 68 compact which gives the perfect amount of coverage and is easy to apply. You can reapply under or over makeup, it doesn't melt in the heat, and matches to your skin tone! It also comes in clear if you prefer no color.
Correction
We all want to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and texture. The best product to use for this with little to no irritation would be SkinBetter’s AlphaRet Overnight Cream or the AlphaRet Clearing Serum if you have oily skin.
