What is Latisse?
Latisse is a solution of bimatoprost ophthalmic, it is a prescription at 0.03%. It is the first and only prescription treatment FDA approved for growing eyelashes longer, fuller and darker.
How does Latisse work?
The active ingredient in Latisse, bimatoprost, allows lashes to grow. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the anagen phase, also known as the growth phase of eyelashes is increased, allowing the number of hairs and density of the hairs to also increase. Lashes then become longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost allows this growth phase to prolong.
How do I use Latisse?
A single drop is placed onto the brushes provided and applied to the base of the lashes, much like eyeliner. One drop per brush is used, and one brush per eye. This is keeping the application sterile and safe for the eyes. Lengthening will be noticable in about 8 weeks; Within about 16 weeks full results of the length and thickened lashes will be noticable.
